While vacationing in West Palm Beach last month, I had the opportunity to take a site visit at the Fabulous Breakers Hotel. Ivy, their Leisure Sales Manager, couldn’t have been more thorough or nicer. She invited me, along with my family, to tour the resort. Not only did she enlighten us with the history of this magnificent resort, but she showed us many features and amenities that I did not know existed. The investment in the ongoing renewal of The Breakers allows them to continuously enhance the quality of the leisure experience 365 days a year! From the timeless Sunday Brunch to the Italian Restaurant, and  the new Hot Spot: HMF, to shopping, the spa and the world class fitness center that was just completed, there was something for everyone. There are also beach bungalows for day rental, a multifaceted playground for kids of all ages, championship golf, bike tours, and water sports.

I was fascinated with the programs for children and teenagers and the new amenities that have been added. There is a family entertainment center that includes an arcade, an outdoor sport court, a craft room and a toddlers playroom. The 4500 square foot playground is new this year and it consists of two separate areas…. one for toddlers up to 5 and another for kids 5 and older. The spaces in the area outdoors lead to the Family Entertainment Center and the Italian Restaurant. Shaded structures provide sun protection, and the lush landscape includes palm trees that give it a park like atmosphere. There are slides, climbers, ramps and overhead structures that provide various physical challenges that promote balance and strength.

For the golf enthusiasts, there are two championship courses. The Breakers Rees Jones Course, and the Ocean course.

The resort has a multitude of amenities that you never have to venture off the property. The design is Italian-Renaissance, and it’s breathtaking setting gives it an exotic appeal.

Our biggest surprise that Ivy led us to last was the Breakers new Ocean Fitness Center. It is unlike any other in the U.S. It is dedicated to health and fitness and has become not only an important component of their guests, but a lifestyle as part of the company’s philosophy. The floor to ceiling windows provide breathtaking views of the ocean. The classes and programs focused on improving functional fitness for the guests. There are numerous ellipticals, treadmills, classes, and trainers. Personal trainers and wellness coaches can help develop a take home fitness plan for the guests. There are also yoga classes, Zumba, hooping and dance fit.

After our tour, Ivy invited us to have lunch in a restaurant of our choice. We selected the Ocean Grill for the beautiful view, the laid-back atmosphere and outstanding food and service. Their newly revamped menu places emphasis on lighter fare including chicken souvlaki and a harvest salad composed of field greens. After our long walk throughout the magnificent resort, I opted for the blue cheeseburger and an Arnold Palmer to drink. It was wonderful!!!

When you book the Breakers through Traveline, you will also receive a full  American breakfast buffet daily for 2, $100 resort credit, early check in/late check out and an upgrade on arrival if available.
